British Values

'British Values Week' is a yearly fixture for our children. In 2019 it ran from Monday 23 September and all classes across school took part.

Acocks Green Primary School sits at the heart of the local community, in every sense. Our community supports and inspires the work that we do, and we draw on these strengths to offer our children the very best start in life.

We are proud of our diverse community and we are equally proud to share and celebrate the values, which underpin our society. Family life, fair-play, tolerance, freedom and liberty, democracy and the rule of law are just some of the values, which make Britain great.

Around school, we have enjoyed celebrating these values, not least because in 2015 we celebrated 800 years since the signing of the Magna Carta, which established the principle that everyone is subject to the law and guarantees the rights of individuals, the right to justice and the right to a fair trial.

Queen Elizabeth is the longest serving monarch in British history.

In March 2019, all of our Year 6 children visited the Houses of Parliament to see democracy at work and another visit in 2020 is already planned.
