School pets

Meet Daffy and Splash.  They were born in our reception classrooms, from eggs, in March 2023.  We have watched them grow and develop into 2 fully grown ducks.  Our parents and children all made fantastic suggestions as to what we should be called.  Our names were selected in assembly.

Daffy is whiteish, with an orange beak.  They are a Peking duck.

Splash is mostly brown, with a few colourful feathers.  They are a Runner Duck.

They are best friends and like to cuddle.  Why not pop up to see us? They are very used to hearing voices and love company.

Each class takes it in turn to clean their enclosures each day. They are well fed and cared for so please don't worry about feeding us - we have lots of lovely things to nibble on.

In August 2023, they started laying eggs!
